More about Vintage M90 Black Luminous Gilt Chronograph Borgel Case SS

This is a vintage 1940's stainless steel Movado M90 Chronograph 19018. It has a case designed by Francois Borgel, a leather strap with a stainless steel tang buckle, and a domed acrylic crystal. There is a screw down solid case back, and it has the original rare sunray chronograph pushbuttons (the same as the Patek Philippe 1463). The 33mm diameter solid two-body anti-magnetic case, angled lugs, and angled bezel are sharp and with a bright finish. The original rare dial is lacquered with evenly aged luminous radium baton hands and Arabic numeral hour markers. There is a center sweep chronograph seconds hand and an outer 60-minute/seconds scale. Around the perimeter is a tachymeter track to 900 UPH, and there are two subsidiary dials including a running seconds register at 9 o'clock, and a 60-minute totalizer with a distinctive serpentine hand at 3 o'clock. Originally designated "waterproof" and non magnetic, the 12mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Movado M90 Chronograph 19018 has a mechanical manual winding Movado caliber 90 column wheel chronograph movement. It's rhodium-plated, and it's constructed with 17 jewels, a straight-line lever escapement, and a monometallic balance. It includes a self-compensating Breguet balance spring, and an index regulator.
