More about Le Brassus 8 Day Platinum Limited

This is a platinum Blancpain Le Brassus 8 Jours, 4213-3442-55B. It has a leather strap with a matching platinum deployant buckle, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coatings on both surfaces. The solid 42mm diameter three-body case, stepped bezel, and straight lugs are polished, and it has a sapphire display case back. The dial is opaline with applied white gold Roman numeral hour markers, an outer track with minutes/seconds divisions, white gold feuille hands, and a center sweep seconds hand. There is an 8-day power reserve subsidiary dial at 12 o'clock, and a date aperture window at 6 o'clock. It's water resistant to 50 meters (165 feet), and the 12.5mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. The manual winding Blancpain caliber 13RO movement is rhodium-plated with fausses cotes embellishment. It's constructed with 30 jewels and a shock absorber mechanism. It includes three barrels, a straight-line lever escapement, a titanium balance with 4 poising weights that are adjusted to 5 positions, and a self-compensating free-sprung Breguet balance spring. The mechanism oscillates at 28,800 vph (4 Hz). In 1983 Blancpain moved the company to Le Brassus in the Joux Valley in Switzerland. The elegant watches in this collection pay homage to that city. This watch was limited to an edition of 260 examples in platinum.
