More about Patek Philippe 5035J-001 Annual Calendar Cream Dial 18K Yellow Gold

This 18K yellow gold Patek Philippe 5035J-001 has an opaline dial with applied gold Roman numeral hours inlaid with luminous markers. There is a day marker at 9 o'clock, a month subdial at the three o'clock position, and the date window is at 6 o'clock. It has a second hand sweep and an am-pm indicator. A Railroad minute chapter is around the periphery, and there is a fixed, smooth bezel with a domed sapphire crystal and a sapphire exhibition display back. The automatic movement is the Caliber 315, with 35 jewels, 316 parts and a power reserve of 48 hours. The efficient self-winding rotor is 21K gold; the Geneve seal is stamped on the movement. It is also made in white or pink gold.

This watch has a traditional case design with a contemporary appearance and the ingenious annual calendar, which Patek invented and first debuted with this watch. They produced this rare, discontinued annual calendar complication wristwatch in the 1990's, aimed at a younger demographic. It accompanied their now famous marketing campaign: "You never own a Patek Philippe timepiece; you merely take care of it for the next generation."
