More about Cricket Nautical SS Black Dial

This is a 316L stainless steel Vulcain Cricket Nautical Heritage 100107.024. It has a leather strap with a stainless steel tang buckle, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. The fluted crosshatched crown at 3 o'clock is for winding and time setting. The cross-hatched fluted screw lock crown at 4 o'clock adjusts the long half-open aperture with the Arabic numeral tables on the inner dial that correlate the necessary decompression times per the depth of the dive. The push button at 2 o'clock can independently set the alarm by engaging the alarm setting function of the main crown at 3 o'clock (also crosshatched). It has a screw down solid case back with 16 alarm holes, and it's engraved with: "VULCAIN – CRICKET-NAUTICAL – 30 METERS/90 FEET – STAINLESS STEEL – MANUFACTURED IN SWITZERLAND," and a serial number. The 42mm diameter solid three-body case, straight lugs, and flat bezel are polished/brushed. The dial is black with luminous white markings, and baton indices and Arabic numeral hour markers at 3, 6, and 9 o'clock around the perimeter. 4 luminous white concentric circles mark the decompression tables. There are sword hands with luminous inserts that indicate a blue minute/second track with luminous dot markers, and there is a center sweep seconds hand with a luminous dot. The 4th center hand for the alarm has a red arrow tip. It's water resistant to 300 meters/1000 feet, and it has a 42-hour power reserve at full wind. The 17mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. The Vulcain Cricket Nautical Heritage 100107.024 has a mechanical manual winding "Vulcain Exactomatic" V-10 movement. It's nickel coated, and it's constructed with 25 jewels, 165 components, blued screws, and twin barrels in line. There is an index regulator, a shock absorber device, and the mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 18,000 vph (2.5 Hz). The Vulcain Cricket Nautical Heritage 100107.024 is a faithful 2011 evolved re-examination of the Vulcain Nautical Cricket that was introduced in 1961. It was designed with the partnership of diver Hannes Keller who, at the time, held the record for deepest dive (222 meters).
