More about Vintage Triple Calendar Manual Wind 18K YG Box and Papers

This is an 18k yellow gold vintage c. 1940's Jaeger LeCoultre Triple Calendar, caliber P484/1A. It has an alligator leather strap with a yellow gold tang buckle, and a domed acrylic crystal. There is a snap-on solid polished case back engraved with the serial number. The 34mm diameter solid two-body case, fluted teardrop lugs, and three-tiered stepped bezel are polished. The original champagne dial has gold Dauphine hands, applied yellow gold faceted dart indices and Arabic numeral hour markers at 3, 9, and 12 o'clock. There is a railway-style minute track, and a perimeter date scale with red Arabic numerals indicated by a center red-arrow tipped date hand. There are two gold-rimmed rectangular aperture windows at 10 o'clock for the day, and at 2 o'clock for the month, both in French. A large constant seconds subsidiary dial is at 6 o'clock, and the 9.5mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. The mechanical manual winding Jaeger LeCoultre caliber 484/1A movement is gilt brass, with fausses côtes embellishment. It's constructed with 15 jewels, a straight-line lever escapement, and a shock absorber device. It includes a monometallic balance, and a self-compensating flat balance-spring.
