More about Zenith G582 Vintage El Primero 18K Yellow Gold Panda Dial

This is a circa 1969/1970 vintage 18K yellow gold Zenith El Primero G582. It has a Zenith alligator strap with a Zenith 18K gold plated tang buckle, round chronograph pushbuttons, and a screwed-down Zenith star logo winding crown. The 36.7mm diameter three-body solid case, downturned lugs, and flat angled bezel are polished/brushed. It has a snap-on solid case back, signed and hallmarked 75o. The original dial is gold with gold applied faceted baton hour index marker, black and gold baton hands, and a red chronograph seconds hand. There is a minute/seconds track and an outer tachymeter scale to 500 units. The case is sharp and the Panda dial with black sub dials is original and clean, with retro stylings. There is a small seconds subsidiary dial at the 9 o'clock position, a 30-minute sub dial at 3 o'clock, and a 12-hour sub dial at 6 o'clock. A date aperture window is between 4 and 5 o'clock. The 11.5mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed.

The mechanical automatic self-winding Zenith El Primero caliber 3019 PHC movement is constructed with 31 Jewel, a straight-line lever escapement, and a self-compensating flat balance. This watch was produced in an edition of only 600 examples, introduced in 1969.
