More about Rolex 6305-2 Oyster Perpetual SS "RED DATEJUST"

This is a vintage 1954 stainless steel Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust 6305-2. There is an acrylic crystal, screw-down solid case back, and a Brevet screw-down winding crown. The 36mm diameter solid three-body case, integral downturned lugs, and fluted stainless steel bezel are polished/brushed. The original dial is white with applied faceted baton hour markers with dot hour indices, dauphine hands with luminous inserts, and a center sweep seconds hand. There is an outer minute/second track around the perimeter, and it has an alternating red and black "roulette" date wheel underneath a Cyclops magnification bubble in the crystal at the 3 o'clock position. It is an Officially Certified Chronometer. It's water resistant and the 14mm thick case, dial, crown, and movement are all signed.

This Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust 1601 has a mechanical automatic self-winding Rolex caliber 1570 movement that's rhodium-plated. It's constructed with 26 jewels, a shock absorber device, and a straight-line lever escapement. It includes a monometallic balance that's adjusted to 5 positions and temperature, a self-compensating free-sprung Breguet balance spring, and Microstella regulating screws.
