This is a vintage c. 1960's 18k yellow gold Patek Philippe TIFFANY & CO Calatrava 3440. It has an alligator leather strap with an 18k yellow gold Patek Philippe tang buckle, and a domed acrylic crystal. There is an original early PP pull out winding crown, and a solid screw down case back, inside of which is stamped "PATEK PHILIPPE & CO – GENEVE – SWISS – 3440," a serial number and hallmarks. It has the original water resistant nylon case back gasket, and the 34mm diameter solid case, downturned faceted lugs, and rounded bezel are polished. The perfect dial is champagne, with applied faceted baton hour markers around a perimeter gold dot minute track. There is a black "crosshairs" running small seconds subsidiary dial at the 6 o'clock position. Everything is immaculate and original, and the 10mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Patek Philippe TIFFANY & CO Calatrava 3440 has a mechanical automatic self-winding Patek Philippe caliber 27-460 movement. It's stamped with the Geneva Quality hallmark. It's rhodium plated, with fausses cotes embellishment, and it's constructed with 37 jewels, a shock absorber device, and a straight-line lever escapement. It includes a Gyromax balance that's adjusted for heat, cold, isochronism, and 5 positions, a self-compensating blued steel Breguet balance spring, and an 18K gold rotor with the Calatrava symbol.
