More about Patek Philippe 2458 Vintage Calatrava 2458 XL Rose Gold 37MM NICE

This is a vintage 1953 18k rose gold Patek Philippe Calatrava 2458. It has an alligator leather strap with a rose gold Patek Philippe tang buckle, and a domed acrylic crystal. It has a snap down brushed solid case back with a thumb flip, and a pull out winding crown. The 37mm diameter solid two-body case, angled lugs, and flat angled bezel are polished. The original convex dial is silver with applied faceted baton and hour markers with diamond-shaped and dot indices at 3 and 9 o'clock, and an applied gold Arabic numeral at 12 o'clock. It has gold baton hands, a running small seconds subsidiary dial at the 6 o'clock position, and there is a perimeter minute track. The 8.5mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed.

This Patek Philippe Calatrava 2458 has a mechanical manual winding Patek Philippe caliber 12-400 movement that's rhodium-plated, with fausses cotes embellishment, and it's stamped with the Geneva Quality Hallmark. It's constructed with 18 jewels, a shock absorber mechanism, and a straight-line lever escapement. It includes a monometallic balance that's adjusted to heat, cold, isochronism and to five positions. There is a self-compensating blued steel Breguet balance spring, and a swan neck micrometer regulator.

This 1953 Patek Philippe Calatrava 2458 is identical to the platinum watch that was created for J.B. Champion, and was sold for over $3.7 million dollars. The 18k rose gold case is in spectacular original condition with an immaculate case. The lugs and case are sharp and defined, and the hallmarks are full and clear.
