It has a gold screw down Twinlock winding crown, and a solid screw down case back. The34mm diameter solid three-body case, slightly curved lugs, bracelet, and fluted 18k yellow gold bezel, are polished/brushed. The dial is black with applied faceted baton and luminous dot hour makers, around a perimeter gold minute/second scale. It has polished steel baton hands with luminous inserts, and a center sweep seconds hand. There is a date aperture window underneath a Cyclops magnification bubble at 3 o'clock. It has a Certified Official Swiss Chronometer (COSC) rating, and it's water resistant to 100 meters/330 feet. It has a 50-hour power reserve at full wind, and the 11.5mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date 15223 has a mechanical automatic self-winding Rolex caliber 3135 movement. It's rhodium-plated, with fausses cotes embellishment, and It's constructed with 31 jewels, an Incabloc shock absorber device, and a straight-line lever escapement. It includes a free sprung Glucydur balance wheel, a blue Parachrom hairspring, and a monometallic balance that's adjusted to temperatures, isochronism, and 5 positions. It has a self-compensating free sprung Breguet balance spring, and the mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz). The Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date 15223 was introduced in 1987.
