More about Vintage Monaco "Steve McQueen" Blue Dial UNPOLISHED

This is a vintage c. 1969/1970 stainless steel Heuer Monaco "Steve McQueen" Chronograph 1133B. It has the original stainless steel NSA bracelet with signed Heuer buckle, and an acrylic crystal. There are two canted and fluted round chronograph push buttons at 2 and 4 o'clock, and the pull out winding crown is located at 9 o'clock on the left-side of the case. It has a snap-down solid faceted case back engraved with "TOOL NO 033," and the Heuer logo. The inside of the case is engraved "HEUER-LEONIDAS SA – SWISS – STAINLESS STEEL." The 39.5mm by 45mm square solid two-body case, straight lapidated lugs, and flat bezel are polished/brushed. The dial is matte blue with applied faceted horizontally placed steel baton hour markers and luminous dot indices around an outer minute/one-fifth second track with additional red baton hour markers. It has twin white subsidiary dials, including a 12-hour register at 9 o'clock, and a 30-minute chronograph totalizer is at 3 o'clock. The steel baton hands have red accent stripes and luminous inserts, with red arrow indicator tips. There is a red center-sweep chronograph second hand, and the steel-rimmed date aperture window is at the 6 o'clock position. The 14mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Heuer Monaco "Steve McQueen" Chronograph 1133B has an automatic winding Heuer caliber 11 movement. It's rhodium-plated, and constructed with 17 jewels, a shock absorber device, and a straight-line lever escapement. It includes a monometallic balance, and a self-compensating flat balance spring. The Heuer Monaco "Steve McQueen" Chronograph 1133B is now commonly referred to as the Steve McQueen because he wore it in the 1972 film "Le Mans," although the Heuer Monaco line was introduced in 1969 and was produced until 1974.
