More about Ingenieur Automatic Vintage Collection 18K Rose Gold

This is an 18K rose gold IWC Ingenieur Automatic Vintage Collection IW323303. It has a soft-iron inner case for protection against magnetic fields, a rounded, polished bezel and curved lugs with an alligator leather strap, and an 18K rose gold tang buckle. The dial is silver with luminous rose gold dauphine hands and applied faceted baton index hour markers and luminous dot indices. There is a center sweep seconds hand and the three-body solid polished and brushed case has a screw-down crown and sapphire crystal display case back. The rectangular date aperture is at 3 o'clock with a crown-activated rapid advance. There is a 42-hour power reserve at full wind, and the outer track has minute/second dot indicators. It's water resistant to 120 meters/385 feet. The 14.5mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Ingenieur Automatic Vintage Collection IW323303 has a mechanical automatic self-winding IWC caliber 80111 movement that's rhodium-plated. It's constructed with 28 jewels, a straight-line lever escapement, and a monometallic balance that adjusts for cold, heat, and five positions. It has a shock absorber mechanism, a self-compensating flat balance spring, and a hacking seconds mechanismfor precision time setting. The case, dial, and movement are all signed. When Hans Ernest Homberger took over IWC in 1955, one of the first offerings was the Ingenieur automatic, made with a special soft-iron inner body for protection against magnetic fields. It was equipped with the first bidirectional automatic movement, developed by Technical Director Albert Pellaton.
