More about Submariner 1680 SS EXCELLENT CONDITION

This is a vintage c. 1979 stainless steel Rolex Submariner, 1680. It has an integral 93150 stainless steel Oyster bracelet (580), and a "Top Hat" acrylic crystal with a Cyclops bubble that magnifies the date at 3 o'clock. In overall excellent condition, the 40mm diameter solid three-body case is polished and brushed with a screw down case back and crown. It has the original graduated bidirectional revolving black bezel that has faded to Navy blue showing decompression times, and a crown guard protects the Triplock winding crown. It has a distinctive yellow patina on the luminous steel baton hands and dot, triangular, and baton hour index markers. It has a center sweep second hand. An outer track has minute/seconds divisions, and the mechanism is COSC certified (officially certified Swiss chronometer). It's water resistant to 200 meters/660 feet, and the 15mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. The automatic winding Rolex calibre 1570 movement is rhodium-plated with oeil-de-perdrix embellishment. It's constructed with 26 jewels, a shock absorber mechanism, and a straight-line lever escapement. It includes a monometallic balance adjusted to heat, cold, and 5 positions, a self-compensating free- sprung Breguet balance spring, Microstella regulating screws, and a hacking mechanism.
