More about Marine Big Date SS / Rubber

This is a stainless steel Breguet Marine Big Date, 5817ST/12/5V8. It has a rubber strap with a matching stainless steel deployant buckle, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. The 40mm diameter solid two-body case, reeded band, lapidated lugs, screwed bars, and stepped rounded bezel are polished. There is a screw-down exhibition sapphire display case back secured with 6 screws, and a protected screw-down winding-crown. The dial is two-tone silver and guilloché with applied blued steel radial Roman numeral hour markers on a plain reserve, with luminous gold Breguet hands. The outer minute/seconds track has luminous dots, and there is a sweep seconds hand and a large double date aperture at 6 o'clock. It's water resistant to 100 meters, and it has a 65-hour power reserve. The 12mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. The automatic Breguet calibre 51766 is rhodium-plated with fausses cotes embellishment. It's constructed with 35 jewels, a straight-line lever escapement, and a shock absorber mechanism. It has a monometallic balance adjusted to heat, cold, and 5 positions, and a self-compensating flat balance spring. Included is a micrometer regulator, and a gold rotor decorated with an engine-turned sunray pattern.
