This is an ion-plated 316L stainless steel U-Boat Classico 2278. It has a black leather strap with a black IP (Ion plated) coated stainless steel folding deployment buckle, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal with antireflective coatings. There is pull out winding crown at 9 o'clock, with a screw down protective cap, and an ion-plated screw down guard. A crown at 10 o'clock runs the seconds. It has an exhibition sapphire display case back secured with 7 screws, and it's engraved around the perimeter with "CHRONOGRAFO – ACCIAIO 316-L – 45MM – VETRO ZAFFIRO – MADE IN ITALY – CHRONOGRAFO." The 45mm diameter solid three-body case, downturned lugs, and flat angled bezel are matte black ion-plate. There is a carbon fiber dial superimposed with a matte black plate, with cut out baton hour indices, and applied luminous steel Arabic numerals at 4, 8, and 12 o'clock. It has black baton hands with Super-LumiNova coating, a luminous center sweep chronograph second hand, and there are twin cut out subsidiary dials including a 12-hour chronograph totalizer at 6 o'clock, and a 30-minute totalizer at 12 o'clock. There is a horizontal running small seconds register with a luminous hand at 3 o'clock, and a quick set date aperture window is at 9 o'clock. It has a 42-hour power reserve at full wind, and it's water resistant to 100 meters/330 feet. The 16.8mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This U-Boat Classico 2278 has a caliber U-77 (modified base ETA 7750) movement. It's rhodium plated, and it's constructed with 25 jewels, a shock absorber device, and a straight-line lever escapement. It includes a monometallic balance, an ectachron fine adjustment system and index, a ball bearing rotor, and a hacking seconds device for precision time setting. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz). The U-Boat Classico 2278 was introduced in 2013.
