This is a stainless steel IWC Big Pilot (Grosse Fliegeruhr) 5002-01. It has an alligator leather strap with an IWC stainless steel double deployment clasp, and a domed scratch resistant sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coatings. It has a screw-down gem-shaped winding crown and a solid case back secured with 8 screws and engraved with "DIE GROSSE FLIEGERUHR," and a serial number. The 46mm diameter solid two-body case, curved lugs, and angled bezel are polished/brushed. The dial is black with luminous Arabic numeral hour markers and baton indices around a perimeter minute/second scale. It has luminous steel IWC "Spitfire" hands, and a needle center sweep seconds hand. There is a 168-hour/7 days power reserve indicator at the three o'clock position, and a date aperture window is at 6 o'clock. It's water resistant to 60 meters/200 feet, and the 16mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed.

This IWC Big Pilot (Grosse Fliegeruhr) 5002-01 has a mechanical automatic self-winding IWC caliber 5011 movement. It's rhodium-plated, with oeil-de-perdrix embellishment, and it's constructed with 44 jewels, a shock absorber device, and a straight-line lever escapement. It includes a monometallic balance, a spring-mounted rotor, and a Pellaton pawl-winding system. There is a self-compensating Breguet balance spring, a bidirectional spring-mounted rotor engraved "IWC - Probus Scafusia," and a hacking seconds device for precision time setting. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 21,000 vph (3 Hz).
