This is a PVD coated stainless steel Panerai PAM Luminor Power Reserve PAM00028. It has a leather strap with a PVD coated stainless steel tang buckle, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coatings. It has the patented Panerai protected, lever activated winding crown for winding underwater, and there is a screw down solid case back engraved with "OFFICINE PANERAI – STAINLESS STEEL – 300 M – FIRENZE – 1860," a serial number and an edition number. The 44mm square cushion-shaped case, curved lugs, and flat angled bezel, are satin finished. The dial is black hobnail design with luminous Arabic numeral hour markers at 6, 9, and 12 o'clock, and luminous baton hour indices, around a luminous perimeter minute/second scale. It has luminous steel pointed baton hands, a steel center sweep second hand with a luminous circular indicator, and there is a magnified circular date aperture window at the 3 o'clock position. A luminous black and white 40-hour power reserve indicator arch with a luminous steel "propeller" indicator hand is at 6 o'clock. It has a Certified Official Superlative Chronometer (COSC) rating, and it's water resistant to 300 meters/1000 feet. The 17mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Panerai PAM Luminor Power Reserve PAM00028 has a mechanical automatic self-winding Panerai caliber 9040 (base ETA 2892-A2) movement. It's rhodium plated with Cotes de Geneve embellishment, and it's constructed with 21 jewels, blued screws, a KIF Parechoc anti-shock device, a self-compensating flat balance spring, and a straight-line lever escapement. It has a Glucydur monometallic balance, and the mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz). The Panerai PAM Luminor Power Reserve PAM00028 was introduced in 1999 in a limited edition to 1000 examples.
