More about Jaeger LeCoultre Q1908470 Aston Martin AMVOX1 Alarm SS

This is a stainless steel Jaeger LeCoultre AMVOX 1 ASTON MARTIN Q1908470. It has an alligator leather strap with a stainless steel deployment buckle, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. It has a screwed down solid case back engraved with the Aston Martin logo and the limited edition number. The 42mm diameter solid two-body case, lapidated curved lugs, and concave cupped bezel are polished. There is a bi-directional rotating bezel underneath the sapphire crystal that's operated by the center crown. The crown at the 2 o'clock position sets and winds the alarm, while the crown at 4 o'clock sets the time and date. The dial is black with a 270° luminous radial Arabic numeral hour marker display, white luminous steel baton hands with an arrow tip on the minute hand, and a center sweep seconds hand with a red needle tip. It has a luminous white fourth hand that indicates the alarm time. There is an inner ring for the alarm, and an outer revolving graduated ring that measures 1/5 seconds. It has a date aperture window at 3 o'clock, and a 45-hour power reserve at full wind. It's water resistant to 50 meters/165 feet, and the 14.85mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed.

This Jaeger LeCoultre AMVOX 1 ASTON MARTIN Q1908470 has a mechanical automatic self-winding Jaeger LeCoultre caliber 918 Memovox movement that's rhodium plated, with Cotes de Geneve embellishment. It's constructed with 27 jewels, blued screws, and a shock absorber mechanism. It includes a straight-line lever escapement, a monometallic balance adjusted for temperature and 5 positions, a self-compensating flat balance spring, and a hacking seconds mechanism. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz).

The Jaeger LeCoultre AMVOX 1 ASTON MARTIN Q1908470 was introduced in 2004. This was the first of the AMVOX series, the name based on this model, a contraction of AM for Aston Martin and VOX for Memovox. The dial design imitates the Aston Martin dashboard.
