More about Oyster Date SS Silver Dial Bracelet c. 1966

This is a vintage c. 1966stainless steel Rolex Oyster Date Precision 6694. It has an integral stainless steel 3-link bracelet with a folding deployment clasp, and an acrylic crystal. It includes a signed screw down winding crown, and a screw down solid case back engraved inside with "MONTRES ROLEX SA – GENEVA SWITZERLAND – PATENTED – 6694." Engraved on the case band sides are "REGISTERED DESIGN 6694," and a serial number. The 34mm diameter solid three-body case, straight lugs, bracelet, and flat angled bezel, are polished/brushed. The original dial is silver with a sunray patterning, applied rose-gold plated faceted hour indices with luminous inserts around a black perimeter minute/second scale, and on the extreme perimeter are luminous hour pips. It includes gold-plated baton hands and a center sweep seconds hand with a looped counter balance. There is a non-quick set date aperture at 3 o'clock with a Cyclops lens for magnification. It's water resistant to 100 meters/330 feet, and it has a power reserve of 38-hours at full winding. The 11.5mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Rolex Oyster Date Precision 6694 has a mechanical manual winding Rolex 1215 caliber movement. It's rhodium plated, with fausses cotes embellishment, and it's constructed with 17 jewels, an anti-shock device, a straight-line lever escapement, an index regulator, and a self-compensating flat blue balance spring.
