More about Blancpain 5025-3630-52A Fifty Fathoms 8-Day Tourbillon 18K Rose Gold / Kevlar

This is an 18K rose gold Blancpain Fifty Fathoms 8-Day Tourbillon 5025-3630-52A. It has a Kevlar strap, with a matching brushed 18K rose gold tang buckle, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. The 45mm diameter solid three-body case, knurled, 60-minute sapphire unidirectional bezel, curved lugs, and screw down crown are all polished. The dial is black with applied rose gold Arabic numerals with Super Luminova inserts at 3, 6, and 9, rose gold dart shaped hour indexes with Super Luminova inserts at the alternate hours. It has an outer minute/seconds ring. The tourbillon is at 12 o'clock, and there is a power reserve of 8-days with an indicator at 6 o'clock. It's water resistant to 300 meters (30 atm/985 ft), and the 14.75mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed.

The automatic self-winding Blancpain calibre 25A movement is rhodium-plated with fausses cotes embellishment and an inner anti-magnetic cage. It's constructed with 29 jewels, 238 components, and a shock absorber mechanism. There is a straight-line lever escapement, a glucydur free-sprung balance with gold regulation screws, and a self-compensating flat balance spring.

Blancpain's Fifty Fathoms collection goes back to their first modern diver's watch in 1953. It had been discontinued but when Marc A. Hayak became CEO of Blancpain SA in 2002, he brought back the Fifty Fathoms, which is still one of the premier diving watches in the world.
