This is a gold-plated vintage c. 1960's Breitling Navitimer Cosmonaute 809. It has a gold plated case on a black lizard strap with a gold plated Breitling tang buckle, and an acrylic crystal. It has a signed winding crown, round chronograph push buttons, and a solid snap down case back stamped with "STAINLESS STEEL BACK – BREITLING – 806." The 41mm diameter solid three-body case, downturned lugs, bracelet, and flat knurled rotating bezel are polished. The dial is black with two outer gold Arabic numeral scales, and with a white perimeter reserve and black Arabic numerals for the slide rule function. It has a luminous tritium 24-hour GMT scale with white Arabic numeral hour markers alternated with luminous tritium baton indices. It has gold plated baton hands with luminous tritium inserts, and a center sweep chronograph hand with a gold arrow tip. There are three white subsidiary dials with Arabic numerals, including a running small seconds register at 9 o'clock, a 12-hour chronograph totalizer at 6 o'clock, and there is a 30-minute chronograph register at 3 o'clock. The lume on the markers and hands are lightly aged. The 13mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Breitling Navitimer Cosmonaute 806 has a mechanical manually wound Venus caliber 178 movement. It's copper colored, and constructed with 17 jewels, a shock absorber device, and a straight-line lever escapement. It includes a monometallic balance, an index regulator, and a blued steel flat balance spring.The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 18,000 vph (2.5 Hz).
