This is a stainless steel Omega Speedmaster Professional "Alaska Project" 311.32.42.30.04.001. It has a stainless steel Omega link bracelet with a folding double deployment clasp, and a Hesalite crystal with the OMEGA logo in the center. There is a screw-down solid case back engraved with, "ALASKA PROJECT – LIMITED EDITION – 50M/167 FT – FLIGHT-QUALIFIED BY NASA FOR ALL MANNED SPACE MISSIONS," and the edition number of 1970 examples. In the center is a medallion with "SPEEDMASTER," and the logo with an Omega symbol. It has round chronograph pushbuttons and an integral winding crown and pusher guard. The 42mm diameter solid three-body case, lyre lugs, bracelet, and flat black bezel with a tachymeter scale to 500 UPH, are polished/brushed. Included is a two-body red oxidized aluminum protective Thermo case for extreme temperatures, as well as an additional white leather NATO strap. It has a white zinc oxide-coated dial, with painted luminous black and white baton hands, a center luminous red chronograph hand, and baton hour markers around a perimeter minute/one-fifth second track. There are three recessed white subsidiary dials, including a running seconds dial at 9 o'clock, a 12-hour totalizer at 6 o'clock, and a 30-minute chronograph indicator at 3 o'clock. Both the 12-hour and 30-minute registers have luminous black Apollo hands. It's water resistant to 50 meters/167 feet, and it has a 48-hour power reserve at full wind. The 14mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Omega Speedmaster Professional "Alaska Project" 311.32.42.30.04.001 has a mechanical manual winding Omega caliber 1861 movement that's rhodium-plated. It's constructed with 18 jewels, a shock absorber device, and a straight-line lever escapement. It includes a monometallic balance, a self-compensating flat balance spring, and an index regulator. This Omega Speedmaster Professional "Alaska Project" 311.32.42.30.04.001 was a re-creation of the prototype watch made for NASA astronauts. It was produced in a limited series of 1970 pieces in 2008.
