More about Rolex 116300 Datejust II SS Silver Dial

This is a 940L Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust II 116300. It has an integral three-link Oyster stainless steel bracelet with a double deployant clasp, and a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with a Cyclops magnifying bubble lens over the date. There is a monobloc middle case with a solid screwed down case back, and the winding crown has the screw-down, Twinlock double waterproofness system. The 41mm diameter solid three-body case, bracelet, and domed bezel are polished/brushed. The dial is silver with applied luminous baton hour markers, and an outer minute track with Arabic numerals every 5-minute/seconds. It has luminous steel baton hands, and a center sweep seconds hand. The instantaneous date aperture at 3 o'clock has rapid setting, and there is a stop-seconds for precise time adjustment. It has the Certified Official Superlative Chronometer (COSC) certification, and it's water resistant to 100 meters/330 feet. The 11.8mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed.

This Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust II 116300 has a mechanical automatic self-winding Rolex caliber 3135 movement that's rhodium plated, with oeil-de-perdrix embellishment. It has bidirectional self-winding by the perpetual rotor, and a paramagnetic blue Parachrom hairspring. It's constructed with 31 jewels, and includes a straight-line lever escapement, a monometallic balance that's adjusted to temperatures and 5 positions, a shock absorber mechanism, and a self-compensating free-sprung Breguet balance spring. It has Microstella regulating screws, and a hacking seconds device for precision time setting. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz).

The Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust II 116300 was introduced in 2009 - a larger 41 mm version of the classic 1945 perpetual datejust, the first self-winding, water resistant chronometer wristwatch with a window date display, and the first Rolex equipped with the distinctive Cyclops lens that magnifies the date.
