This is a 316L stainless steel Panerai Mare Nostrum Acciaio Chronograph PAM00716. It has a blue alligator strap with a stainless steel tang buckle, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. It has "mushroom" style round chronograph push buttons, and an oversized pull out winding crown. It includes a screw down solid case back engraved with "OFFICINE PANERAI FIRENZE – STAINLESS STEEL – SWISS MADE – 5 ATM," hallmarks, an edition number, and a serial number. The 42mm diameter solid three-body case, gently curved lugs, and flat bezel are polished/brushed. It has a deep blue dial with vintage-toned luminous Arabic numeral markers at the half hours, baton and dot indices, around a luminous white minute/second scale. It includes pointed blue baton hands with vintage luminous inserts, and there is a white luminous center sweep chronograph hand. The unidirectional rotating coin edged bezel is flat with a black Arabic numeral tachymeter to 280 UPH. There are twin blue recessed subsidiary dials with luminous white Arabic numerals and markers, including a 30-minute chronograph totalizer at 9 o'clock, and there is a 60-second running small seconds register at the 3 o'clock position. It has a Certified Official Superlative Chronometer (COSC) rating, and it has a 42-hour power reserve at full winding. It's water resistant to 50 meters/165 feet, and the 12mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Panerai Mare Nostrum Acciaio Chronograph PAM00716 has a mechanical manual winding Panerai caliber OP XXXIII (based on an ETA 2801-2 ebauche with a Dubois-Dépraz chronograph module) chronograph movement. It's rhodium plated with Officine Panerai embellishment, and it's constructed with 17 jewels, an Incabloc shock absorber device, and a monometallic balance. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz). The Panerai Mare Nostrum Acciaio Chronograph PAM00716 was introduced in 2017 in a limited edition to 1000 pieces in tribute to an officers deck chronograph that did not go into production. It comes with a large wooden commemorative chest, as well as a scale model of the Luigi Durand De La Penne, an Italian navy destroyer from the era of the original Mare Nostrum.
