More about Perpetual Calendar White Dial Roman 18K White Gold RARE

This is a rare 18K white gold Patek Philippe Perpetual Calendar 3940G. It has an alligator leather strap with an 18K Patek Philippe white gold deployment buckle with a Calatrava emblem release, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. There is a snap-on exhibition sapphire display case back, with a pull out winding crown. The 36mm diameter solid three-body case, downturned lugs, and cupped bezel are polished. The rare white dial has black Roman numeral hour markers around a railway-style perimeter minute track. It has black javelin hands. The month and leap year are displayed on a sub dial at 3 o’clock. The date and moon phase sub dial is at 6 o’clock, with the day and 24-hour time indicator is at 9 o'clock. It has a 46-hour power reserve at full wind, and it’s water resistant to 25 meters/80 feet. The 9mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Patek Philippe Perpetual Calendar 3940G has a mechanical automatic self-winding caliber 240 Q movement. It's rhodium-plated with fausses cotes embellishment, and it's stamped with the Seal of Geneva Quality Mark. It's built with 27 jewels, a straight-line lever escapement, and the patented Patek free-sprung Gyromax balance adjusted to heat, cold, isochronism and 5 positions. It includes a shock absorber, a self-compensating flat balance spring, and a 22K gold micro-rotor mounted on ball bearings. The case, dial, and movement are all signed. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 21,600 vph (3 Hz). Patek Philippe made the very first perpetual calendar wristwatch in 1925. It self-adjusts for the months that have only 28 or 30 days, and for leap years. This Patek Philippe Perpetual Calendar 3940G-025 was introduced in 1985 and was discontinued in 2006.
