More about UTC Spitfire SS Silver Dial

This is a stainless steel IWC UTC Spitfire Pilot's watch 325107. It has a leather strap with a stainless steel tang buckle, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. It includes a signed pull out fluted winding crown, and a screw down solid case back engraved with "DIE FLIEGERUHR UTC," and a serial number. The 39mm solid two-body case, gently curved lugs, and flat angled bezel, are satin. The three-tiered dial is silver sunray with applied polished steel Arabic numeral hour markers, and applied baton hour indices with luminous inserts at 6 and 9 o'clock, and with an applied steel luminous steel aviation triangle at the 12 o'clock position. There is a silver rehaut with a black minute/seconds scale around the perimeter with Arabic numerals every five seconds to 60, and it includes steel Spitfire sword hands with luminous fill, and a steel center sweep seconds hand. It has a steel ringed date aperture window at the 3 o'clock position, and there is a second GMT 24-hour time zone arch at 12 o'clock. It has a 42-hour power reserve at full winding, it's water resistant to 120 meters/400 feet, and the 12mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This IWC UTC Spitfire 325107 has a mechanical automatic self-winding IWC caliber 37526 (base ETA caliber 2892-A2) movement with an additional 24-hour rotating disk. A soft iron cover creates an anti-magnetic shield, and it's rhodium plated with Glashutte ribbing embellishment. It's constructed with 21 jewels, blued screws, and a straight-line lever escapement. It has a monometallic balance that's adjusted to heat, cold, and 5 positions, an anti-shock system, and a self-compensating flat balance spring. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz). The IWC UTC Spitfire 325107 was introduced in 1998. IWC debuted their pilot's watches (Die Fliegeruhr) in 1936.
