More about 1815 Yellow Gold Manual 40mm

This is an 18k yellow gold A. Lange & Sohne 1815 Manual Wind 233.021. It has an alligator leather strap with an 18k yellow gold ALS tang buckle, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. It has a pull out winding crown, and an exhibition sapphire display case back secured by 6 screws, and engraved around the polished perimeter with "A.LANGE & SOHNE – GLASHUTTE I. SA.," a serial number, and several hallmarks. The 40mm diameter three-body solid case, curved lugs, and rounded bezel are polished/brushed. The dial is silver with blued steel epee hands, black painted Breguet-style Arabic numeral hour markers, and a railway-style perimeter minute scale. There is a recessed silver small running seconds subsidiary dial at the 6 o'clock position. It has a power reserve of 55-hours at full wind, and it's water resistant to 30 meters/100 feet. The 8.9mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This A. Lange & Sohne 1815 Manual Wind 233.021 has a mechanical manual winding A. Lange & Sohne caliber L051.1 movement. It's rhodium plated, with fausses cotes embellishment, and it's constructed with 23 jewels, 188 components, a shock absorber mechanism, and 5 screwed gold chatons. It includes a straight-line lever escapement, a monometallic balance adjusted to heat, cold, and 5 positions, and a self-compensating flat Nivarox balance spring. The ¾ back plate is finished with striped/ribbed texturing and polished beveIed edges, and the screw balance is shock resistant. It has a swan neck micrometer regulator, and the balance cock is hand-engraved, making each watch unique. The movement oscillates at a frequency of 21,600 vph (3 Hz), and the precision beat-adjustment system has a lateral setscrew and a whiplash spring. This A. Lange & Sohne 1815 Manual Wind 233.021 was introduced in 2009. The 1815 watches are an homage to Adolph Lange, the founder and pioneer of precision German watchmaking; they commemorate his birth year of 1815.
