More about Calatrava Manual Wind 18K Yellow Gold Hobnail

This is an 18K yellow gold Patek Philippe Calatrava 3796D. The two-body solid case is polished, with a clou de Paris hobnail bezel, a brushed case back, gently curved lugs, and oxidized stick-baton hands. There is an outer track with minute divisions and a subsidiary small seconds dial at 6 o'clock. The black leather strap has a matching 18k Yellow Gold Buckle. It's water resistant to 30 meters, it has a 44-hour power reserve at full winding, and the 7mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Patek Philippe Calatrava 3796D has a mechanical manual winding Patek Philippe caliber 215 movement that's rhodium plated with fausses cotes embellishment; it's stamped with the Seal of Geneva quality mark. It's constructed with 18 jewels, 130 components, 5 bridges, a shock absorber mechanism, a straight-line lever escapement, and a self-compensating Spiromax flat balance spring. It has the patented Patek Philippe Gyromax balance that compensates for cold, heat, isochronism, and 5 positions. The dial, case, and movement are all signed. This Patek Philippe Calatrava 3796D was introduced in the 2000's. The Calatrava line was first introduced in 1932 after the Stern brothers purchased the company. These are still Patek's signature models. They are extremely thin, with polished wide bezels or hobnail relief around the dials that give the impression of a fine gold coin.
