More about Grand Lange 1 18K Yellow Gold / Champagne Dial + LANGE SERVICE

This is an 18K yellow gold A. Lange & Sohne Grand Lange 1, 115.021. It has a leather strap with a matching 18K yellow gold deployant clasp. The solid 42mm diameter three-body case, rounded bezel, and curved/straight lugs are polished and brushed and have developed a gorgeous patina. There is a pushbutton at the 10 o'clock position for adjusting the date. It has a scratch-resistant, anti-reflective-coated sapphire crystal, and a sapphire display case back secured with 6 screws. The dial is champagne gold with applied radial Roman numeral and lozenge hour index markers in the white off center time dial, and blued steel alpha hands. There is a white subsidiary small seconds dial at 5 o'clock, a 72-hour power reserve indicator at 3 o'clock, and an oversized double-window date aperture at 1 o'clock. It's water resistant and the 11mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. The manual winding A.Lange & Sohne caliber L 901.2 movement is constructed from Glashütte 3/4 plate in German silver, with fausses cotes embellishment. It has 53 jewels, 9 in screw-mounted gold chatons, and a shock absorber mechanism. There is a straight-line lever escapement, and a monometallic balance that's adjusted to 5 positions. It includes a self-compensating flat balance spring, a swan neck micrometer regulator, and a hand-engraved balance bridge.
