This is an 18K rose gold A. Lange & Sohne 1815 Chronograph 401.031. It has an alligator leather strap and a matching 18K rose gold tang buckle, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. There are rectangular push buttons for the fly back chronograph, and there is a pull out winding crown. The exhibition sapphire display case back is secured with 6 screws, and it's engraved with "A. LANGE & SOHNE – GLASHUTTE SA.," hallmarks, and a serial number. The solid 39mm diameter three-body case, rounded bezel, and downturned lugs are polished. The dial is oxidized black silver with painted, luminescent white Arabic numeral hour markers and red gold Dauphine hands. There are twin silver subsidiary dials with black railway-style markers and Arabic numerals, and rose gold indicator hands, including a running small seconds register at 8 o'clock, and a 30-minute chronograph totalizer is at 4 o'clock. There is an outer luminous white 1/5th second/ minute track, and a perimeter pulsometer graduation. It has a 36-hour power reserve at full winding, it's water resistant to 30 meters/100 feet, and the 11mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed.

This A. Lange & Sohne 1815 Chronograph 401.031 has a mechanical manual winding A.Lange & Sohne caliber L 951 movement that's Glashütte ¾-plate with fausses cotes embellishment. It's constructed with 34 jewels (including 4 in screw-mounted gold châtons), 320 components, and a shock absorber mechanism. It has a straight-line lever escapement, a monometallic balance that's adjusted to 5 positions, and a self-compensating Breguet balance spring. There is a swan-neck micrometer regulator, and a hand-engraved balance bridge. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 18,000 vph (2.5 Hz).

The A. Lange & Sohne 1815 Chronograph 401.031 was introduced in 2004, and it was produced until 2008. The 1815 in the model name refers to the birth year of Ferdinand Adolph Lange, the founder of the company.
