This is a c. 1980's platinum gold Audemars Piguet Quantieme Perpetual Calendar 274738. It has an alligator leather strap with a platinum Audemars Piguet tang buckle, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. It includes a pull-out signed winding crown and there are correctors in the left-side case band at 8, and 10 o'clock and an another on the right side at 4 o'clock for adjusting the calendar. It has a snap down solid case back engraved with "Quantieme Perpetual Automatique," and the serial number. The 36mm diameter solid three-body case, downturned lugs, and stepped bezel are polished. The dial is white with applied white gold faceted baton hour markers on a perimeter minute track. It has white gold baton hands, and four recessed white subsidiary dials with black Arabic numerals, markers, and blued indicator hands, including a radial day register at the 9 o'clock position, a moon phase dial at 6 o'clock, a radial date indicator at 3 o'clock, and a radial month dial at 12 o'clock. It's water resistant to 30 meters/100 feet, it has a 40-hour power reserve at full winding, and the 7.5mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Audemars Piguet Quantieme Perpetual Calendar 274738 has a mechanical automatic self-winding Audemars Piguet caliber 2120 QP movement that's rhodium-plated, with Cotes de Geneve embellishment. It's constructed with 36 jewels, a shock absorber device, and a straight-line lever escapement. It includes a monometallic balance that's adjusted to heat, cold, isochronism, and 5 positions. It has a self-compensating flat balance spring, and a 21K gold rotor segment. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 19,800 vph (2.75Hz)). The Audemars Piguet Quatieme Perpetual Calendar 274738 was originally introduced in 1978 after adapting the original 2120 movement. This rare example was the world's thinnest, self-winding perpetual calendar.
