Breguet Vintage Type XX Flyback Chronograph 5101/54, stainless case is in exceptional condition with large bevels and sharp lugs, manual wind Valjoux caliber 222R, flyback chronograph, circa 1956, originally issued to the French Air Force, original sterile dial is also in fantastic condition with original luminous material which has aged to a beautiful golden brown, dials on Breguet military watches were prone to frequent changes, however this example has kept its original radium dial, patina on the hands have been stabilized, 9 service markings spanning from 1963 to 1981, diameter: 38mm, thickness: 13.5mm, Excellent Condition with Certificate signed by Emmanuel Breguet in 2017, and Breguet service papers (service was performed this year).

This is a vintage c. 1956 stainless steel Breguet Type XX Fly back Chronograph. It has a leather strap with a matching stainless steel tang buckle, and an acrylic crystal. The 38mm diameter solid three-body case, screwed-down case back, reeded bezel, and lapidated downturned lugs are polished/brushed. It has a ball-shaped winding crown and round Fly back chronograph pushbuttons. The original sterile dial is black with radium-coated Arabic numeral hour markers, an outer 60-minute chronograph track, and radium-inlaid baton hands. There is a 30-minute subsidiary dial at the 3 o'clock position, and a constant seconds dial at 9 o'clock. The case is very sharp, with 9 service markings spanning from 1962 to 1983.The 13.5mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. The mechanical manual winding Breguet Valjoux caliber 222 movement is rhodium plated. It's constructed with 17 jewels, a straight-line lever escapement, a monometallic balance that's adjusted to 5 positions, and a self-compensating Breguet balance-spring. The Type XX was developed in the 1950's for the French Naval arm. It has been authenticated by the Breguet Museum, and was originally issued to the French Air Force.
