This is a stainless-steel Chopard L.U.C. 1963 Purists Edition 168556-3001. It includes a leather strap with a stainless-steel deployment buckle and scratch resistant sapphire crystals. It has a pull-out signed winding crown, round push-rod chronograph push buttons and there is an exhibition sapphire display crystal case back secured with 6 screws and it's engraved with "CHOPARD MANUFACTURE – 8556 – CHRONOMETER – 1963 CRONOGRAPH PURIST EDITION," an edition number and a serial number. The 41mm diameter round solid 3-body case, straight notched lugs, and stepped convex bezel, are polished/satin. The dial is matte black with luminous painted Roman Numeral hour markers around a perimeter chronograph seconds scale. It has polished steel thin dagger hour and minute hands and a red center sweep chronograph seconds hand with a pointed lozenge counterbalance. It includes three recessed black subsidiary dials with luminous white Arabic numerals, markers, and red/polished steel indicator hands, including a 12-hour chronograph totalizer at 9 o'clock, a 30-minute chronograph counter at 3 o'clock, and there is a small constant running seconds register at the 6 o'clock position. It includes a Certified Official Superlative Chronometer (COSC) rating, it's water resistant to 50 meters/165 feet, and there is a 60-hour power reserve at full winding. The 14.25mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Chopard L.U.C. 1963 Purists Edition 168556-3001 has a manual winding Chopard caliber L.U.C 03.07-L column wheel chronograph movement. It's rhodium and gold plated with Cotes de Geneve and perlage embellishment and the seal of Geneva quality hallmark. It's constructed with 45 jewels, an anti-shock system, a patented Variner balance wheel, and an anti-skid coupling clutch. It includes optimal zero reset, a small seconds reset, and the mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4Hz). The Chopard L.U.C. 1963 Purists Edition 168556-3001 was introduced in 2015 in a limited edition to 50 examples.
