More about Chronometre Resonance "Parking Meter" Platinum 40MM FULL SET

This is a .950 platinum F.P. Journe Chronometre Resonance "PARKING METER" It's an extremely rare variant that includes a .950 platinum case and an alligator leather strap with a platinum tang buckle and scratch resistant sapphire crystals. It has two completely independent time zones, with the crown at 12 o'clock winding both movements and setting the hours and minutes of each dial. It has an exhibition sapphire display crystal case back secured with 6 screws and engraved with "FP. JOURNE – RESONANCE – INV. FECIT – PT 950," and a serial number. The 40mm diameter solid two-body case, curved lugs, and rounded stepped bezel, are polished/satin. This Resonance variant is sometimes known as the "parking meter," because of its whimsical profile and for the "gasket" at 9 o'clock which resembles a meter. The crown at 4 o'clock resets both seconds hands to zero, and it includes mechanical manual winding resonance controlled twin independent movements – two escapements working together in harmony – a radical design that took twenty years of research. The side and top crowns are engine-turned in "cordes de Marseille" texturing; the crown at 12 o'clock winds both movements, independently setting the hours and minutes of each twin subsidiary guilloche silver dial. The dials have printed Arabic numerals for hours and minutes with the register at 9 o'clock showing a completely new radial second 24-hour time zone, a radial minute scale in red, and the gasket on the right at 3 o'clock represents the home time zone. A combined power reserve with an indicator energizes both time zone displays, and the smaller circular subsidiary seconds sub-dials have zero reset. It has a 40-hour power reserve at full winding and the 8.8mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This F.P. Journe Chronometre Resonance "PARKING METER" has a mechanical in-house produced manual winding caliber 1499-3 CAR movement. It's constructed with 36 jewels, Cotes de Geneve embellishment, a shock absorber, and twin straight-line lever escapements. The bridges and plates are 18K red gold, and the resonating engine keeps both movements synchronized. It includes twin beryllium 4-arm gyromax balances with 4 adjustable timing weights, and self-compensating free-sprung balance springs, with both independent trains on a single plate. One escapement is fixed to a small platform that pivots around the second wheel with a rack-and-pinion mechanism that adjusts the distance between the two balances in order to find the most efficient synchronized position. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 21,600 vph. (3Hz). The F.P. Journe Chronometre Resonance "PARKING METER"was introduced in 2010.

I have been dealing with European Watch Company for over ten years, and have purchased several wrist watches, including IWC, Patek Philippe, Rolex, and Jaeger-LeCoultre. They were not only fairly priced but arrived in like-new condition, fully warranted by European Watch Company. This company has an attentive, knowledgeable staff, a large inventory, and is a genuine pleasure to deal with.

Just completed my 7th transaction with EWC and for the 7th time the transaction was smooth, flawless and quick. Joshua is quick to respond to any e-mails and answer any questions. Ashley knows how to complete the necessary paperwork to avoid any delays at Customs as I am located in Canada and all paperwork needs to be completed perfectly which she is an expert at. You only want to deal with the best and the team at EWC is the best. There is a Yiddish word to describe the people at EWC and that word is mensches which translates to people of integrity and honour.

After a lengthy search I located the Patek Philippe I desired at EWC, but the decision to make a high dollar purchase over the internet was a difficult one. Through numerous emails with Justin and looking at reviews of EWC I made the decision to proceed and I am now ECSTATIC. The watch is exactly as described and pictured. It was perfectly packaged and shipped FedEx overnight. My watch collection now includes the watch I have been seeking for over a year.In summary, you can deal with the EWC staff with confidence. They are professional, honest and you will receive a quality watch which will put a smile on your face.

I live in San Francisco but the EWC website is the first place I check once I get an impulse for a particular watch. EWC's website is cozy and feels like home. I enjoy the photos, presentation, description and historical notes of each item and really like their next day delivery, so I stay loyal to them. Sometimes I must wait awhile for a watch to become available but can usually find anything I want. Then there are the watches you never knew you wanted until you see them here.

Dear EWC, I have just completed my very first purchase with your company: a mint Lange Datograph. Robert was extremely help throughout the process with the item delivered nicely packed to my Hong Kong address within days. The condition of the watch was absolutely mint as described and has exceeded my expectations, even under a loupe! I will be a return customer in no time. Well done!
