More about 1858 Geosphere Dual Time

This is a stainless-steel Montblanc 1858 Geosphere 119286. It has a calfskin leather strap with a stainless-steel triple folding deployment buckle, and a domed scratch resistant sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coatings on both sides. It includes a pull-out signed bronze winding crown, a corrector on the left-side case band at 10 o'clock for setting the home time, and a snap down solid titanium case back engraved with a depiction of Mount Blanc and a crossed tool "climbers crest" emblem, and around the outer rim are engraved the seven mountains, "MONT BLANC – PUNCAK JAYA – VINSON –– KILIMANJARO – ACONCAGUA – DENALI – EVEREST – MOUNT ELBRUS," and around the inner rim is " SWISS MADE - 10 BAR – GEOSPHERE – 1858 – TITANIUM," and a reference number. When the crown is pulled out to the second position it adjusts both time zones as well as the hemisphere indicators, and in the first position it adjusts the date and local time, with the hour hand jumping in hour increments. The 42mm diameter solid three-body bronze case, curved faceted lugs, and flat bezel, are polished/brushed. The Glossy black ceramic bidirectional ratcheted rotating bezel has compass point directional markings. It has a black dial with vintage-toned luminous SuperLumiNova Arabic numerals at 2, 4, 8, and 10 o'clock, luminous "boat-shaped" hour markers with white Arabic numerals to 60-minutes, and "cathedral-shaped" rose gold minute and hour hands with SuperLumiNova inserts. There is a white perimeter ring with a black railway-style minute hand. It includes two raised domed globes with sculptural gold continents that have tiny red dots representing the 7 mountain summits, including one at 12 o'clock for the northern hemisphere that turns counterclockwise with day and night indications, and another a 6 o'clock representing the southern hemisphere that turns clockwise completing a full rotation every 24 hours. There is a recessed black subsidiary dial at 9 o'clock for the second 24-hour time zone, and a date aperture window is at the 3 o'clock position. It's water resistant to 100 meters/330 feet, it has a 42-hour power reserve at full winding, and the 12.8mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Montblanc 1858 Geosphere 119286 has a mechanical automatic Montblanc caliber MB 29.25 (based on the Sellita caliber SW300-1) movement with the world time module built by Mont Blanc. It's rhodium plated with Cotes de Geneve embellishment, and it's constructed with 25 jewels, an Incabloc shock absorber system, a Nivaflex flat hairspring, and a Glucydur monometallic balance. It includes a ball bearing mounted rotor, a stop second system for precision time setting, and a single spring barrel. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4Hz). The Montblanc 1858 Geosphere 119286 was released at the SIHH exhibition in 2018 in a limited edition of 1600 examples in bronze, and 1858 in all. It's dedicated to the Seven Summit mountaineering challenge (the names of the seven mountains are engraved on the case back).
