More about Speedmaster Professional Japan Racing Dial RARE COMPLETE

This is a stainless steel Omega Speedmaster Professional Japan Racing Dial "Moon Watch" 3570.40.00. It has an integral stainless steel Omega link bracelet with a double deployant push-release clasp, and a Hesalite crystal (a type of extremely shock resistant plastic similar to Plexiglass). There is a solid screw-down case back engraved with "FLIGHT QUALIFIED BY NASA FOR ALL MANNED SPACE MISSIONS – THE FIRST WATCH WORN ON THE MOON," and "SPEEDMASTER" with the high relief logo in the center. There is a fixed black ion-plated bezel with a graduated tachymeter to 500 UPH, round chronograph pushbuttons, and a screw-down winding crown protected by crown guards. The 42mm diameter solid three-body case, lyre lugs, and bracelet are polished/brushed. The dial is gray with luminous baton hour markers around a minute/one-fifth seconds perimeter scale, luminous baton hands, and a orange center sweep chronograph hand with a luminous arrow tip. There is a red and orange checkered ring on the outer edge with orange squares marking every 5 minutes, and red squares in between. There are three gray subsidiary dials including a constant small seconds register at the 9 o'clock position, a 12-hour totalizer at 6 o'clock, and a 30-minute sub dial is at 3 o'clock. It's water resistant to 50 meters/165 feet, and it has a power reserve of 48-hours at full wind. The 14mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Omega Speedmaster Professional "Moon Watch" 3570.40.00 has a mechanical manual winding Omega caliber 1861 movement. It's rhodium-plated, and it's constructed with 18 jewels, a shock absorber device, and a straight-line lever escapement. It includes a monometallic balance, a self-compensating flat balance spring, and a micrometer regulator. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 21,600 vph (3 Hz). The Omega Speedmaster Professional Japan Racing dial 3570.40.00 was introduced in 2004 in a limited run of 2004 pieces taking inspiration from the 145.022-69 that utilized the same colors and patterns on the dial.
