More about Panerai PAM00171 Luminor Power Reserve SS / Titanium

This is a titanium and stainless steel Panerai Luminor Power Reserve PAM00171. It has an integral Panerai titanium and steel bracelet with a double folding deployment clasp, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating. It has the patented completely protected lever-activated winding crown for underwater winding, and the bezel is stainless steel. It includes a solid screw down case back engraved with "OFFICINE PANERAI – FIRENZE 1860 – AUTOMATIC – TITANIUM – 300M," hallmarks and serial numbers. The 44mm square cushion-shaped solid two-body case, downturned lugs, bracelet, and flat angled bezel, are polished/brushed. The dial is black with luminescent baton hour indices and luminous Arabic numeral hour markers at the half-hours. It has luminous steel pointed baton hands, a round magnified date aperture window at 3 o'clock, and there is an arched brushed steel power reserve register with a luminous "propeller" indicator hand at 5 o'clock. A brushed steel running small seconds totalizer with a luminous propeller hand and black markers is at the 9 o'clock position. It's water resistant to 300 meters/1000 feet, and it has a 42-hour power reserve at full winding. The 16mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed.

This Panerai Luminor Power Reserve PAM00171 has a mechanical automatic self-winding OP IX movement. It's rhodium plated with Cotes de Geneve embellishment on the bridges, and it's constructed with 21 jewels, a Panerai signed oscillating weight, and an Incabloc anti-shock device. It includes a straight-line lever escapement, a monometallic Glucydur balance that's adjusted for temperature and 5 positions, and a self-compensating flat balance spring. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz). Officine Panerai created the transmission system on this watch; it connects the barrel's winding spring and the movement's gear train to the power reserve indicator. The indicator moves as the winding spring transmits the accumulated energy to the movement wheels.

The Panerai Luminor Power Reserve PAM00171 was introduced in 2003 and it was produced until 2010.
