More about 130 Chronograph Stainless Steel 130A RARE
This is a vintage 1947 stainless-steel Patek Philippe Chronograph 130A. It includes a rice-bead integral stainless-steel bracelet with a folding deployment clasp that's not original. The stainless-steel case is in excellent condition with very little wear, and the lugs are sharp and full. It has a signed pull out winding crown, arched rectangular chronograph push buttons, and a snap down pressure fit solid case back stamped on the inside with "PATEK PHILIPPE & CO – GENEVE – SWISS – ACIER INOX," and a serial number. The 33.5mm diameter round three-body case, curved lugs, bracelet, and convex bezel, are polished/satin with very little signs of detailing. The original dial is silver with raised steel Roman numeral hour markers on the half hours, and domed steel pip hour indices surrounded by a black railway-style minute/60 second scale. It has pointed thin baton hour and minute hands, a steel center sweep second hand, and around the perimeter is a black tachymeter scale to 300 UPH. It includes twin recessed circular subsidiary dials with black Arabic numerals, markers, and steel indicator hands, including a small constant running seconds register at 9 o'clock, and a 30-minute chronograph totalizer is at 3 o'clock. This Patek Philippe Chronograph 130A has a mechanical manual winding Patek Philippe caliber 13-130 (base Valjoux ebauche) column wheel chronograph movement. It's rhodium plated with Cotes de Geneve embellishment, and it's constructed with 23 jewels, a shock absorber device, and a straight-line lever escapement. It has a cut bimetallic compensation balance that's adjusted to 8 positions, a blued steel Breguet balance spring, and a swan-neck micrometer regulator. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 18,000 vph (2.5 Hz). This Patek Philippe Chronograph 130A is a rare early Patek Philippe chronograph.
