More about Moonphase 5015G Power Reserve White Gold Hobnail Bezel

This is an 18K white gold Patek Philippe Power Reserve Moon Phase, 5015. It has an alligator leather strap with a matching white gold tang buckle, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. It has a hinged back with a sapphire crystal exhibition display. The 36mm diameter four-body solid case, hobnail stepped bezel, and straight lugs with gold screwed bars are polished/brushed. It has a white enamel dial with black painted radial Arabic numerals, black oxidized gold spade hands, and a railway-style outer minute track. The subsidiary seconds dial is at 4 o'clock, with a 48-hour power reserve indicator at 10. The moon phase aperture is a 7 o'clock. It's water resistant to 25 meters/ 80 feet, and the alligator strap has a matching 18K white gold tang buckle. The 10mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. The mechanical automatic self-winding calibre 240/154 movement is rhodium-plated with fausses cotes embellishment and it's stamped with the Seal of Geneva quality mark. It's constructed with 29 jewels, a straight-line lever escapement, and a shock absorber mechanism. It has a self-compensating free-sprung flat balance spring, a 22K gold micro-rotor, and the patented Patek Philippe Gyromax balance that adjusts for cold, heat, isochronism, and 5 positions. Patek Philippe first introduced their moon phase complication in 1927; In 1977 they received a patent for their diminutive calibre 240 automatic movement, which would be placed in some of the greatest timepieces ever made, including this watch, which was produced in 1995 and is now discontinued. The hobnail style bezel was introduced in 1932 when the company debuted their first Calatrava designs.
