More about Calatrava Manual Wind 18K Yellow Gold

This is an 18K yellow gold Patek Philippe Calatrava 5096. It has an alligator leather strap with an 18k Yellow Gold tang buckle, and scratch resistant sapphire crystals. It has a signed screw down winding crown, and an exhibition sapphire display case back with hallmarks underneath two lugs. The 33mm diameter solid two-body round case, flat stepped bezel, and downturned lugs, are polished. The matte silver dial has applied faceted gold "boat" shaped baton hour markers, gold dauphine hands, and an outer gold dot minute track. There is a flush silver subsidiary constant small seconds dial at 6 o'clock with black markers and a gold indicator hand. It's water resistant to 25 meters/80 feet, and the 7.5mm thick case, dial, and movement are signed. This Patek Philippe Calatrava 5096 has a mechanical manual winding Patek Philippe caliber 215 movement that's stamped with the Seal of Geneva quality stamp. It's rhodium-plated, with fausses cotes embellishment, and it has a shock absorber mechanism. It's constructed with 18 jewels, 130 components, a straight-line lever escapement, and a Gyromax balance that's adjusted to heat, cold, isochronism and 5 positions. It includes a self-compensating free-sprung Spiromax balance spring, and the mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz). This Patek Philippe Calatrava 5096 was introduced in the 1990's. It harkens back to 1932 and the debut of Patek's first Calatrava 96 watches after the Stern brothers acquired the company.
