More about Perpetual Calendar 5970P (2 Dial Set) Platinum RARE COMPLETE

This is a rare platinum Patek Philippe Perpetual Calendar Chronograph 5970P-001. It was ordered with two dial sets including a silver and a black face (as per the accompanying archive). It includes a .950 platinum case with a blue alligator leather strap, a folding platinum deployment buckle, and scratch resistant sapphire crystals. It has a signed screw down winding crown with crown guards and arched rectangular chronograph push buttons. There is a polished screw-down exhibition sapphire display case back, and there are four correctors for the date/perpetual calendar on the case band, including one at 10 o'clock, another at 7 o'clock, and two more are at 12 o'clock on top of the watch. The 40mm diameter solid three-body case, downturned screwed lugs, and stepped convex bezel, are polished. The dial is silver with applied faceted platinum rectangular and square hour markers, feuille leaf hands, and a platinum center sweep chronograph hand with a lozenge-shaped counterbalance. There is a black railway-style outer minute/second scale with Arabic numerals every five minutes to 60, and around the perimeter is a black graduated tachymeter scale to 600 UPH. It has twin rectangular aperture windows underneath 12 o'clock for the day and month, and there are three recessed silver subsidiary dials with black Arabic numerals, markers, and platinum feuille indicator hands, including a combination 30-minute totalizer and leap year indicator at the 3 o'clock position, a combination 24-hour register and constant small running seconds dial at 3 o'clock, and there is a moon-phase and radial date ring at 6 o'clock. The additional black dial set is black with applied faceted platinum rectangular and square hour markers, platinum feuille leaf hands, a luminous white railway-style outer minute/second scale with Arabic numerals every five minutes to 60, and around the perimeter is a white graduated tachymeter scale to 600 UPH. The subsidiary dials are black with white Arabic numerals and letters. It's water resistant to 30 meters/100 feet, it has a power reserve of 60-hours at full winding, and the 12mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Patek Philippe Perpetual Calendar Chronograph 5970P-001 has a mechanical manual winding Patek Philippe caliber CHR 27-70 Q (based on the Nouvelle Lemania caliber 2310) column wheel chronograph movement with an added rattrapante split second function and stamped with the Patek Philippe quality mark. It's rhodium-plated, with Cotes de Geneve embellishment and it's constructed with 24 jewels, 10 bridges, and 407 components. It has an anti-shock device, a self-compensating Breguet balance spring, and an index regulator. It includes a Gyromax monometallic balance that's adjusted for cold, heat, isochronism, and 8 positions. This movement was the last of the Patek Philippe chronograph engines not to be fully in-house made. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 18,000 vph (2.5 Hz). This Patek Philippe Perpetual Calendar Chronograph 5970P-001 was made in 2009.
