This is a vintage 1960 18k white gold Rolex Oyster Perpetual Day Date 1803. It includes an 18K white gold case on a strap with a leather strap, an 18k white gold tang buckle, and an acrylic crystal. It has a signed pull-out Twinlock winding crown and a solid screw down case back. The 36mm diameter oyster-style case, curved lugs, and fluted fixed bezel, are satin/polished. It has a black dial with applied faceted gold baton hour indices around a white perimeter 60-minute/second scale with Arabic numerals every five seconds and vintage luminous pip hour markers. It includes white gold baton hour and minute hands with luminous inserts, a center sweep second hand, and there is a non-quickset date aperture window at the 3 o'clock position with a cyclops magnification lens. It includes a Certified Official Superlative Chronometer (COSC) rating, it's water resistant to 50 meters/165 feet, and the 12mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Rolex Oyster Perpetual Day-Date 1803 has a mechanical automatic self-winding Rolex caliber 1556 movement that's rhodium-plated, with oeil-de-perdrix embellishment. It's constructed with 26 jewels, and a shock absorber mechanism. It includes a straight-line lever escapement, a monometallic balance adjusted to 5 positions and temperature, and a self-compensating free-sprung Breguet balance spring. There are Microstella regulating screws, and a hacking seconds mechanism for precision time setting. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 19,800 vph (2.75 Hz). The Rolex Oyster Perpetual Day Date 1803 was introduced in 1959 and it was produced until 1978.
