This is a vintage stainless steel Rolex Submariner 5512 c. 1978. It has an integral stainless steel Oyster bracelet (78360) with 580 end links, a flip lock clasp, an acrylic crystal, and a Triplock winding-crown protected by a crown guard. It has a solid screw down case back, and a graduated bi-directional revolving black bezel with dive/decompression times. The 40mm diameter solid three-body case, integral lugs, knurled edge, bi-directional rotating bezel, and bracelet are polished/brushed. The original Mk II Maxi dial is matte black with the original tritium triangular, round, and baton hour index markers, and an outer seconds/minute track. It has a centered sweep second hand with a round luminous locater, and steel luminous baton Rolex hands. It's a Certified Official Superlative Chronometer (COSC). It's water resistant to 200 meters/660 feet, and the 14.5mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. The 1978 Rolex Submariner 5512 has a mechanical automatic self-winding Rolex caliber 1570 movement that's rhodium-plated. It's constructed with 26 jewels, a shock absorber mechanism, and a straight-line lever escapement. It includes a monometallic balance that's adjusted for temperature and to 5 positions, a self-compensating Breguet balance spring, and Microstella regulating screws. The Rolex Submariner 5512 was introduced c. 1955.
