This is a titanium Urwerk Clockwork Orange UR-105 TA. It includes a titanium case on a Baltimora Niylon woven strap with a glare-proofed scratch resistant sapphire crystal. It has a solid case back secured with 4 screws. The hour satellite disk orbits along the bottom minute track, and when the hour runs out, the satellite keeps rotating and continues around for another three hours before returning to center. The 53mm x 39.5mm (including lugs) grey titanium case, hooded lugs, and PVD-coated steel bezel are matte black, with orange Super-Luminova accents on the markers, dials, satellites, and indices. All of the materials are ultra-light in weight. The dial is skeletonized with carbon fiber guilloche, exhibiting the hours and minutes with an arched minute scale from 4 to 8 o’clock. It has a 48-hour power reserve at full winding, it’s water resistant to 30 meters/100 feet, and the 16.80mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Urwerk Clockwork Orange UR-105 TA has a mechanical automatic self-winding Urwerk caliber 5.02 movement that’s regulated by a double turbine that is visible through the skeletonized ports in the case back, as well as a control lever that overrides the automatic winding with the airbrake system to prevent wear in heavy use. It’s constructed with 52 jewels and the satellite hours are driven by bronze beryllium Geneva crosses, with the orbital structure comprised of PEEK (PolyEtherEthercetone). The carousel and three main plates are made of brass. The winding selector has three positions including Full, Reduced, and Stop. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4Hz). This watch was introduced in 2016 in a limited edition to 100 examples, created by Urwerk designers Felix Baumgartner and Martin Frei, and inspired by the 1971 Stanley Kubrick film “A Clockwork Orance.”
