This is an 18K yellow gold Vacheron & Constantin 4961. It has an alligator leather strap with an 18K yellow gold tang buckle, and an acrylic crystal. It includes a pull-out winding crown and a domed solid snap down case back. The 32mm diameter round solid 2-body case, scalloped curved lugs, and flat angled bezel, are polished. The dial is silver with applied yellow gold stick baton hour markers and pointed stick baton hour and minute hands. It has a 31-hour power reserve at full winding, it's water resistant to 25 meters/80 feet, and the 5mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Vacheron & Constantin 4961 has a mechanical manual winding Vacheron Constantin Ultra Slim Caliber 1003 movement that's only 1.64mm thick. It's gold plated, with Cotes de Geneve embellishment, and it's stamped with the quality seal of Geneva. It has an embellished gold oscillating weight, and It's constructed with 18 jewels, 117 components, and a shock absorber device. It includes a straight-line lever escapement. a large monometallic balance that's adjusted to temperatures, isochronism, and 5 positions, and a self-compensating flat balance spring. To create a thinner mechanism, Vacheron left out the impulse roller and set the impulse jewel directly on the balance arms. The pallet lever is below the fork horn, as are the pivots and jewels. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 18,000 vph (2.5Hz). The Vacheron & Constantin 4961 was produced in the 1960's/1970's. The creation of the 4961 mechanism began in 1952 in L’Ile manufactory on the Rhone River housing Vacheron Constantin’s historical premises since 1875. The caliber 1003 was first presented in 1955 for the Vacheron bicentenary celebration.
