Vacheron Constantin 6440 Toledo, 18k yellow gold on a strap with an 18k yellow gold "Maltese cross" tang buckle, automatic Caliber 12-K1071 movement, acrylic crystal, silver dial with gold indices and pyramid stud markers, size: 32.8mm x 43.7mm (including lugs), thickness: 13.8mm, water resistant to 3 atm. Excellent Condition with Vacheron Constantin box, certificate, and extract from the Vacheron archive showing an original date of manufacture in 1961.

This is an 18K yellow gold Vacheron & Constantin Toledo 6440. It has an alligator leather strap with an 18k yellow gold "Maltese cross" tang buckle, and an acrylic crystal. The 33mm by 44mm solid two-body rectangular "galbé" case, integral stepped lugs, and stepped flared art deco bezel are polished. The dial is silver with a sunburst pattern, with applied 18K yellow gold faceted pyramidal stud and dart index hour markers on a plain reserve. It has gold baton hands and a gold Vacheron Constantin Maltese Cross emblem at 12 o'clock. It's water resistant to 30 meters/100 feet, and the 13.8mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Vacheron & Constantin Toledo 6440 has a mechanical automatic Vacheron Constantin caliber 12-K1071 movement. It's rhodium-plated, with fausses côtes embellishment, and it's constructed with 29 jewels, a shock absorber device, and a straight-line lever escapement. It includes a monometallic balance that's adjusted to 5 positions, and a self-compensating flat balance-spring. This rare Vacheron & Constantin Toledo 6440 was originally sold in May of 1961 to a customer in Caracas, Venezuela. It was completely serviced and restored by the Vacheron Constantin workshop in Geneva in April of 2019.
