More about Vintage Speedmaster Transitional 145.022 SS

This is a vintage 1969 stainless-steel Omega Speedmaster 145.022-69 ST. It includes an integral stainless-steel 1039 Omega Bracelet and an acrylic crystal. It includes round chronograph pushbuttons, a signed screw-down winding crown protected by a crown guard and a solid screw-down case back. The 42mm diameter solid three-body case, integral lugs, bracelet, and black anodized aluminum bezel with a tachymeter to 500 UPH, are polished/brushed. The original dial is black that has turned a deep brown, with white luminous baton hour and minute hands and creamy baton hour marker indices, with all the tritium lume unaltered. There is an outer luminous white chronograph minute/seconds track, and a white center sweep second hand with a luminous arrow/needle tip. It has three recessed black subsidiary dials, including a constant running small seconds register at 9 o'clock, a 12-hour chronograph totalizer at 6 o'clock, and a 30-minute counter at the 3 o'clock position. It's water resistant to 30 meters/100 feet, it has a 48-hour power reserve at full winding, and the 14mm thick case, movement, and dial are all signed. This Omega Speedmaster 145.022-69 ST has a mechanical manual winding Omega caliber 861 movement that's copper-colored, with a shock absorber mechanism. It's constructed with 17 jewels, a straight-line lever escapement, and a monometallic balance that's adjusted for temperature and 5 positions. It includes a self-compensating flat balance spring, and an index regulator. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 21,600 vph (3Hz). The Omega Speedmaster 145.022-69 ST, the second generation of the moon watch, was released in 1968.
